20 Self Defense Techniques
The Inayan System of Eskrima starts with Self Defense
These five drills are among the first things you learn in the Inayan Kadena De Mano Style of Eskrima, and they focus on giving the practitioner a set of skills for defending oneself against an unrehearsed attack.
We start with simple evasion and parrying and move toward gross motor functions that are reliable under stress to block and redirect attacks (Slap Down and Spear).
The last drill is a complex defense, Foundation Drill #3.
The recap and last exercise where you put it all together is a beginner’s drill for reflex training.
Together, these drills provide a perfect way for an instructor or group leader to start a group practicing the Inayan System of Eskrima.
The 20 self defense techniques are provided to help you understand how to deal with common types of scenarios presented in typical assault situations. We cover defenses against various grabs and how to obtain an advantage in each grab attack.
